I deeply apologize for posting this question in the wrong forum. For the life of me, I could not figure out how to post in the Akeeba Subscribtions area.

I spent a bunch of time looking for a way to post a "pre-sales" question about Akeeba Subscriptions.

I could not seem to find my answer in the documention either. Maybe I'm being brain dead today.

 

Can you tell me which of the supported payment gateways allow mastercard and visa payments to be accepted?

Do you support the square.com credit card payment system?

I can tell you which payment methods I have used: PayPal, 2Checkout and PayMill. That said, virtually every payment processor (with the exception of the off line payment, AlloPass and IFTHEN) accept at the very least Visa and MasterCard. BUT! Each payment processor may impose limitations on which kind of cards your clients can use. Please contact the payment providers you are interested in. I can't talk on their behalf.

Square.com is not supported... because it's actually a card present system, i.e. you need the physical credit card. I don't see how that would work with on-line (card not present) payments. Maybe you are confusing them with Stripe?

Thank you for your lightning fast response!

 

I've been using square.com for about a year as a stand-alone system. They allow both swiped card - present and card not present systems. They charge a few tenths of a percent more for transactions when the card is not present.

I would be great if you could add them as a payment method.

 

BTW: How does one post support questions to the Akeeba Subscriptions area?

I will add that on our to-do list. Provided that they do allow Europeans to access their testing servers (because me and my staff are all based in Europe) we can create a plugin. There's a catch, though. We're so backed up with pending developemnt tickets that it'll take us 3-4 months :(

Hi John,

I was about to implement that plugin but unfortunately square.com doesn't support that. They don't offer a possibilty to have their system integrated. I think what you are looking for is the stripe.com plugin, that we have already implemented.
