Description of my issue:

Hello,

just a short question:

I want to except a whole module from htaccess-maker - it has a lot of subdirectories - is it possible to except them in one line with a placeholder like *

what is the syntax

modules/mod_example/*      ?

Regards,

-Kai-

No, you just need to add

modules/mod_example

to "Allow direct access, including .php files, to these directories". Everything under that directory is not blocked any more.

WARNING: THIS IS A VERY BAD IDEA! Any .php file uploaded or written to that directory can be executed over the web. Bad idea. It opens up a potential door for hackers, the one that .htaccess Maker is designed to close. I would recommend trying to find an alternative to your module, one that's properly written by someone who understands how Joomla! works and doesn't resort to direct access of arbitrary PHP files over the web.
