Description of my issue:

I thought my issue was solved in ticket #14723 but there is still one mistake which occurs NOT ALWAYS.

Every link is working correctly exept for one link. "Zimmeranfrage"

If you hover over this link it says: http://www.web-start.at/demo/de/zimmeranfrage-faaker-see

But the moment you click on it, it sometimes rewrites the url somehow to: http://www.web-start.at/demo/de/ranfrage-faaker-see
I did try to rename the link several time in the menu but it always seems to cut of exactly the first 5 characters !

I saved the menu links new.

The mistake it give is from the joomla debug console is:

  1. Kategorie nicht gefunden
    Call stack #FunctionLocation1 JSite->dispatch() JROOT/index.php:42 2 JComponentHelper::renderComponent() JROOT/includes/application.php:197 3 JComponentHelper::executeComponent() JROOT/libraries/joomla/application/component/helper.php:351 4 require_once() JROOT/libraries/joomla/application/component/helper.php:383 5 JController->execute() JROOT/components/com_content/content.php:16 6 ContentController->display() JROOT/libraries/joomla/application/component/controller.php:761 7 JController->display() JROOT/components/com_content/controller.php:74 8 JCacheControllerView->get() JROOT/libraries/joomla/application/component/controller.php:718 9 ContentViewCategory->display() JROOT/libraries/joomla/cache/controller/view.php:98 10 JError::raiseError() JROOT/components/com_content/views/category/view.html.php:56 11 JError::raise() JROOT/libraries/joomla/error/error.php:251

As is said before it DOESN'T ALWAYS gives this mistake. This mistake happens maybe every 5th time you trying to call the page and is does happen in different browsers  as well.

I don't know if it helps, but I attach the htaccess.txt file.

Thank you very much for your help

Best regards,

Sabine

This sounds like caching gone wrong. Try clearing your browser's and your site's cache.

Hi nicholas,

I cleared the joomla cache - it is set to normal caching 15 min.

I cleared the cache on all 3 testbrowsers, I did get an error in firefox in the beginning and then the next 5 times none. I did as well get a error in chrome and then the next 5 times none.

Maybe it did work....... Since I am working on this site online, I guess that I should now and then clear the cache....

But will customers have this problem as well? or is it because of me working on this site?

Kind regards,

Sabine

Your guess is as good as mine. What I understand is that there was a caching issue. In any case now that you have cleared the site's cache any issues your clients have should be resolved once they close and restart their browser, i.e. most likely tomorrow.

Hi Nicolas,

I tried again a view times andthe 404 error is there again. As well in firefox and chrome. Sometimes.

What I don't understand that this only happens with this 1 link:

The link http://www.web-start.at/demo/de/zimmeranfrage-faaker-see is a fabrikar form.

On the original website I switched of the index.php rewrite because of the 404 errors and now they never occur.

But the links look awfull with the index.php in it......

Should I give you my login so you can have a look inside of joomla?

Thank you for all your help. I hope we can solve this soon......

I think that "demo" in the link shouldn't be there. If you are using a SEF component maybe you have to purge its URL cache.
