I seem to be having a problem posting a ticket, sorry.  Here is what I wanted to ask:

Title: Administrator Control Panel not displayed!

Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: Joomla! 2.5.8
PHP version: 5.3.10
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host:
Admin Tools version: Admin Tools Professional 2.4.4

Description of my issue:

After installing Admin Tools Professional using standard default settings, I created an administrator user, but when they log in they cannot see the administrator control panel.  In ATPRO there is no master password set and in that section all protected features are set to 'No'.  (As a Super User I have no problems with seeing everything)

All the new administrator user sees they see after loging, is: Site and Help and under 'Quick Icons' just 'Edit Profile'

What do I need to change in the Admin Tools Professional settings to give a new administrator access to the administrator control panel?

Thanks,

nicholas

This is not a problem with Admin Tools. This is a problem with your sessions table (stuck sessions). Using phpMyAdmin please remove all entries from the #__sessions table, where #__ is the common prefix of your site's database tables (once you open your database in phpMyAdmin you'll understand what I mean).

Nicholas Hi,

Thank you for your quick reply.

In Admin Tools Professional 2.4.4 is see the is a function called 'Purge Sessions'.
Will that do the same as what you ask me to do, but with less risk of me making a mistake!

Yes, exactly. I though that no administrator (not even you) can log in, that's why I told you to use phpMyAdmin. If you have access to Admin Tools just use Purge Sessions.

Nicholas, I have purged the sessions using Admin tools Pro, but unfortunately it has made no difference.  As a Super User I have full fuctionality in the joomla back-end, but the newly created 'Administrator' user only sees this when they log in:  Site and Help  plus the Quck Icon 'Edit Profile' only.

Any other ideas, why the control panel is not being displayed for 'Administrator' users

If it's not a session issue then you have changed the ACL permissions of the Administrator group. Most likely you changed that in the last tab of the Global Configuration of your site.

It seems ACL permissions is where the problem may lie!
I have not knowilingly changed anything there, but 'Administrator'>Access Administration Interface has a value of 'Inherited' but shows 'Conflict' and 'Not allowed (locked)'.

Could Admin Tools Pro have changed anything in ACL Permissions?
Can Admin Tools Pro fix this permission problem?

Admin Tools neither modifies nor does it have any tool to fix ACL issues. I leave this subject to the true expert, Sander Potjer, and his excellent ACL Manager component. That's what I use on my sites and, admittedly, it has saved my bacon more than once :)
