Description of my issue:
Hi Nicholas,
I understand that we can't block every bad bot, but....
I want to block couple/several bad boots that are visiting my site. What is the best way to do it -- I don't want to mess with the htaccess (and i see the Common hacking tools and bandwidth hoggers block -- BEGIN).
There is a post/thread here -- ask apache, titled Blocking Bad Bots and Scrapers with .htaccess
My question: If I copy the Blocking Bad Robots and Web Scrapers with RewriteRules ^ (there are 3 versions there) and place it at the bottom, after that line: ##### Joomla! core SEF Section -- END
am I going to create any issue? any conflict with the protection of Admin Tools?
(another question about htaccess: is there a reason to keep the copy that was created by the htaccess Maker? the one with the extension .admintool ?)
Thank you for your time & help!
David
