How do I check if PHP function opendir is enabled in my system? how to enable opendir for admin tool pro if it's not enabled?

Normally it's enabled. Actually, that line should read "make sure that the PHP function opendir is not explicitly disabled by your host".

You can simply look at your host's PHP information page and search for disabled_functions. This is a comma separated list. If it's empty, it's good. If it's not empty but it doesn't contain opendir, you're also good. If it's not empty and does contain opendir, contact your host.

Alternatively, just contact your host and ask them if they have disabled opendir. If they reply they haven't it's good.
