Description of my issue:

I use SSL Enforce for whole site from Tools feature of AT and that's very useful for us.

But in the sub directory there is a CRM and in that CRM there are some application forms. I want to create menu items (as external link or wrapper menu type) for theese forms but SSL error occuers.

So is there any way to make an exception for External Menu Item's links, or for wrapper menu items?

Thanks...

The problem is that this Admin Tools feature will convert all links pointing to the URL of your site into HTTPS links. You can't have a non-SSL link to a subdirectory. The only workaround would be enforcing an SSL to non-SSL redirection in the CRM's directory using a .htaccess. However, IMHO, this beats the purpose! You have some application forms there. This is exactly the kind of content that should be served over SSL. I believe it would be best to see what is that on the CRM's page that triggers the SSL error and fix it.

Thanks for reply...

I don't have acknowledge to detect the SSL error reason on CRM. So if detecting it is not so difficult and it is enough to provide you the link than I will give you link.

But if it is diffucult, then of course I can not ask you for support for an other software.

If you give me the URL I will give it a shot, but I can't promise anything.

Oh, I see what you mean. You can only access the CRM using a different port number and it doesn't support SSL connection. Sorry, there's not solution around that. The only thing you can do is use a URL shortener (like bit.ly or is.gd) and link to the shortened URL. Since the shortened URL is using a different domain name than your site it will most likely not be auto-converted to HTTPS (untested theory off the top of my head; I didn't look at my code to make sure this is what will happen).

Ohh yesss. That's a great solution Nicholas, your idea worked! I used bit.ly and shorten the link. And now the CRM page can be browsed without SSL error.

That's a really brilliant idea :) Thanks...

If you ever come to Istanbul, I will offer you great coffees :)

I will take you up on that offer when I visit Istanbul. All I need is a good excuse to visit my neighbouring country, like a Joomla! Day ;)

We have some plans to invite you, Fotis, Brian and some others in the near future... And for our Greek neighbours (you and Fotis) we can have an old city (Constantin) trip with our coffees.

We are preparing for JUG so I will ping you when it is ready.

Oh, that will be totally awesome! Please keep me posted. If you need to email me, it's nicholas at this domain (it's so obvious people don't guess it, he he!).

OK Nicholas, I noted your difficult-to-realize email address :) And let you know when we are ready for JUG Istanbul.

Thanks...
