Description of my issue:

Nicholas,

I installed the AT 2.4.3 update today but it didn't fix the bug in PHP File Scanner. The configure screen clears the settings unless you click "Save" even if you don't make any edits/changes to the settings.

Yes, it seems that the Cancel button doesn't work still. OK, I'll add that to the to-do for the next version.

Bzzzt! I just rechecked the component's page. The Cancel button is no longer there, as I designed it. If you use the Back button no setting is lost. Of course all your modifications do get lost, because you don't save them.

Can you pleas give me the exact steps to replicate this issue you're experiencing?

Nicholas,

The steps are in my other post (I closed it after you replied the bug was fixed already):

https://www.akeebabackup.com/my-tickets/ticket/admin-tools/14215-at-pro-default-file-scanner-settings-missing.html

All I do is open the Configure screen to see what the default settings are for the file scans. I don't change anything because I think your default settings are the recommended ones to use. Then I just hit the "Back" icon instead of "Save" or "Save and Close" because I didn't change anything in the settings. Then when I reopen the Configure screen the default settings are gone and all are blank.

This is what I'm testing and, of course, no such thing happens. In fact, the Back button is merely the URL to the PHP File Scanner page. No data is written to the database unless you click on the "Save" or "Save and Close" buttons. I can't replicate this issue and there's nothing in the code which could even remotely justify it.

Nicholas,

I think the problem was caused by my browser cache not being cleared after I installed the 2.4.3 update. I just tried it again after reading your post and now it works properly. When I click the "back" button the default settings do not get cleared. So I guess it was just the browser cache.

By the way, what is the format for listing folders in the "Excluded folders not to be scanned" section of PHP File Scanner? If I want a folder and all it subfolders to be ignored do I just use:

/abc-folder

And should that block all scans of folders/files in that folder and it's subfolders, such as:

/abc-folder/123

/abc-folder/456

Yep, that's a plausible explanation. I've seen too many strange things happening due to browser caching. If I had a penny for every minute I've wasted on them... :)

The path to the directory relative the site's root, without a leading slash, i.e.:

abc-folder

This will exclude all of its contents and its subdirectories.
