That's expected. Purging the sessions table means that all active sessions are instantly invalidated, i.e. everyone is logged out of the site.

Well, before I purge the sessions I am warned that everybody will be logged out exept me. As far as I remember this worked in previous versions. I do not remember ever being logged out, when I purged the sessions.
It's a minor problem since I can always log in again after being logged out.
