Admin Tools does not store its configuration on a file, therefore it cannot give you a message telling you that it saved its configuration file – unless you are not using English and someone has done a lousy translation. I am pretty sure you are referring to something completely different.

Please give me in detail what you are trying to do, the steps you followed, any messages you received, the expected outcome and what really happens. You have to be my eyes on your screen. Allowing me to understand what is going on will help me help you.

going to admin tools/configure WAF.

Auto-ban repeat offenders change/set ip blocking of repeat offenders to yes and set email to [email protected]

click save and I get the "... configuration saved" message (see image attached)

however, the configuration page does not show the settings I just made (see image)

I did have to replace the website with a backup which didn't have admin tools installed.  Is the issue related to that?

thanks

OK, now I understand the issue. First take a look with phpMyAdmin and check if the abc_admintools_settings table exists, where abc_ is your site's database table prefix. If you are not sure what your database temple prefix is, please go to Joomla!'s Global Configuration and click on the Server tab. The prefix is written next to the "Database Tables Prefix". If the table doesn't exist, please do try installing Admin Tools Professional twice on your site, without uninstalling it between subsequent installations.

the table did not exist, so I reinstalled twice, but it still does not work.  The table doesn't exist yet either.

Ugh, sometimes Joomla! does that when it thinks that a new installation is actually an upgrade. Try uninstalling the component and then reinstalling it. Does that fix it?
