Joomla! version: 2.5.7
PHP version: 5.4
MySQL version: 5.X
Host: bluehost
Admin Tools version: 2.4.1

Description of my issue:
I recieved 4 emails last night, after I was in bed. All of them failed attempts to log into the admin side. When I wole up I was locked out of the site. That is not a problem, as I can fix that. However, the IP address was mine. Do you think someone is spoofing my ip? This site is not even live yet!

I have a pretty tightly secured linux machine here, I know it is not impentrable, but this is a little scary. Any thoughts?

First make sure that the IP was indeed yours (that is, the external IP of your Internet connection) and not a reverse proxy sitting in front of your site. In the latter case we'd be talking about a bug in Admin Tools.

If the IP which was blocked was your external IP you will have to do some more work. Take a look at the Admin Tools Security Exceptions Log (or the emails which were sent to you). We need two pieces of information: when each access occurred and why it was blocked. Here's why we need that:
- when: it will tell us if this occurred at a time you were sitting in front of your computer. If not, the possible explanations vary. If your computer was turned on you can assume that someone has infiltrated your machine. If your computer is closed, someone has infiltrated your network (maybe someone leeching on your WiFi)
- why: It will give us a clue as to what the heck is going on. For example, it could just be a few false positives triggering the IP block.
