Mandatory information about my setup:

Joomla! version: 2.5.7
PHP version: 5.3.8
MySQL version: 5.0.95-community

Admin Tools version: 2.3.2

Description of my issue:

I have a more general question: Something seems to be blocking some of the graphic-related php extensions (e.g. gd, imagick, ghostscript, ffmpeg etc) installed in usr/bin on my server. I am desperately looking for the cause.

Can it be the standard .htaccess file generated by AdminTools?

Your advise is much appreciated.

Admin Tools blocks neither the binaries in /usr/bin nor PHP's function interfaces to those libraries. I assume that your code is definitely not calling the binaries in /usr/bin (no developer on his right mind would) but it's using PHP's native functions which call the respective libraries (gd, imagick, ffmpeg and so on). In this case I would look two things if I were you: 1. are the respective PHP extensions installed and loaded? 2. are these functions blocked in the global (server) or local (site's root and administrator directory) php.ini file?

Sorry for taken so long to respond, but I've been exhausting all kinds of efforts to understand and fix the described. Turns out you were absolutely right (as always) and that the issue had nothing to do with AdminTools or the generated .htaccess files.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know so that this matter can be closed.
