Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (not related to my problem?)? yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (looked for basic server php parameters to verify)? Yes
Joomla! version: 2.5.6
PHP version: 5.3.3
MySQL version: 5.2
Host: university (internal servers)
Admin Tools version: 2.3.2

Description of my issue:

Hello,

I directly have an 500 internal error while trying to use the "Php file change scanner"
I guess it's a server problem, as I have already used this option in the past.
Unless it is a problem with this new version. (because I used it only with 1.5 J! series)
We are actually trying to optimize the servers for Joomla! so we would like to know if you had any information to "good" server parameters, or at least to correct this option into Admin tools.

Do you recommend, (or it has nothing to do), with using Fast cgi ?

I've done like 40 J! 1.5 websites, and working on this big 2.5.x project for 6 months, so I think I've correctly configured the php.ini, 2 guys at my job, on the network will help checking logs to catch this problem.
So it's only a matter of time, and in case you have any advanced experience on this problem, that I post this ticket.

Thanks

nicholas

This feature is still in its very first steps. Essentially, it's Akeeba Backup's engine only that instead of putting your files to a compressed archive it computes their MD5 checksums and compares them with what is stored in the database. The two big omissions are a log file to let us know what's going on and advanced options to let us work around timeout and memory issues. For the time being we can't do anything to troubleshoot this. The necessary additions to allow that are on my todo list.
