Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? yes I did, but it seems none really related to my issue
Have I searched the tickets before posting? yes, but honestly: not all
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? yes
Joomla! version: (2.5.6)
PHP version: (5.3 or higher, I haven't checked)
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: (antagonist)
Admin Tools version: (latest)

Description of my issue:
just a quick question and check if there is a simple thing that I missed while settting ATpro, htaccessmaker

started with everything on no and worked my way up, I discovered that I lose my template setup (css I suppose) when I enable front end security to take on board in making the .htaccess
background of website is white instead of grey (part of the template configuration), after .htaccess made with front end to yes things are screen wide (while template is 900 wide); as soon as I set frontend security to no again, I'm fine and everything works ok again (or when I go back to original .htaccess)

is there a simple solution?

not having front end security enabled in .htaccess is a bit like driving as if in a volkswagen while sitting in a ferrari, or not?

if the answer is simple (such as: I forgot something perhaps) could you please let me know, so I can set things right, and I feel safe

otherwise, just let me know that I have to do some more homework, and I have to go into more depth with the instructions provided (have been reading them, (about the trial and error and so) ) . It seems my problem is not easily identified while using the CTRL+shift+J  in chrome;  the message I receive does not look close as the example in the instructions)

cheers
wim

It's actually very simple to solve and very common. Many templates offer to serve a "compressed" version of their CSS and/or Javascript files. In order to do that they have to have your browser access some PHP files directly. This is blocked by default by the front-end security provided in .htaccess Maker. That's why we have step by step troubleshooting instructions (the ones you've been reading). If you follow them you can allow those files and your template's CSS will once more load. If you can't find out the problem yourself, just give me the URL to your site so that I can take a look :)

thanks for your prompt reply. as I am curious myself what could possibly be wrong I thought that perhaps the feauture ii enabled in ATcore (combining CSS) could be messing things up; I set it to no; ran HTaccess maker again ; and guess what: template css runnin gperfect again, but now I saw that my galleries are not working anymore (keeping downloading and downloading ......) and the captcha of my foxcontactform reads just 'captcha' instead of the captcha code it should show.

he question is now: what should I do now: follow on this process I used (dis-enabling css combination) and try and solve gallery issue ..... or follow on the original issue (with css combination enabled) and follow the step you sugegsted

sorry for the inconvenience

No need to overcomplicate your life. Just follow the troubleshooter to solve the gallery issue :)
