Joomla! version: 1.5

Admin Tools version: 2.2.1

Description of my issue:

Hello

Updating minor versions work well, but how do I upgrade major versions, I cannot see any facility to do this? I want to go from 1.5.26 to 2.5.4, but admin tools only has minor version update support.

Paul.

PS: Forgive me, but I cannot see any link on the site to a forum, all I could see was tickets, hence the message.

Joomla! 1.5 to 2.5 is not an upgrade, it's a migration. You can upgrade directly from 1.6 and 1.7 to 2.5 but you can not upgrade from 1.5 to 2.5. Admin Tools does not only support minor version updates; this is incorrect. Admin Tools allows you to update between Joomla! versions the Joomla! project itself has deemed to be upgradeable to each other. It can't go from 1.5 to 2.5 because the Joomla! project itself does not support such an update (more information later on).

You actually need to migrate your Joomla! 1.5 installation's content to a Joomla! 2.5 site and do a partial site rebuild. Admin Tools never claimed to be able to do this, nor it will ever do that. There are exactly two pieces of software which are capable of this operation:
- jUpgrade (free)
- SP Update (for a fee)
For more information please consult the Joomla! documentation wiki on migrating from Joomla! 1.5.

I'll close this ticket as it does not pertain to our software. It's generic Joomla! support which is outside the scope of our support service.
