Description of my issue:
Hi Nicolas,
So sorry to bother you with these issues, I see it’s been posted many times before. I believe I’ve followed and tried everything before posting this (listed below).
I have used both Backup & Admin tools a few times now and never had any problems, but for the first time I am using a bought template: JoomlaBamboo ColourShift, so are wonder if this is causing some issues?

Anyway some features like the ‘administrator back-end password’ are working, but having trouble with the following: (on the side - I disabled back-end password while trying to sort these other issues)

First issue: Secret URL Parameter not working;
Tired all these with the same result – go straight to Joomla Admin login

* Made sure both Joomla and Admin Tools have lasts versions

* Reinstalled Admin Tools

* Admin Tools" plugin is enabled & set ordering to first but it defaults to System-AdminTools Update

* My IP is not listed in either the Administrator IP Whitelist or Do not block these IPs

* Logged in on different computers from different IP’s

* Set YES to Allow administrator access only to IPs in Whitelist

* Rename plugins/system/admintools.php to .php.bak > deleted all characters from secret key field > re typed a new secret key > renamed back to admintools.php

* Created a new htaccess file using .htaccess Maker

* Cleared my computers cache after each test

Second issue: ‘Hide/customise generator meta tag’ & ‘Generator tag’ are not working

Third issue: Logging And Reporting
* My email address has been added, but I’m not being notified

Phew, sorry for the list. Really hope you can help on this.
Cheers
Sue

The problem is your PHP version. Admin Tools requires PHP 5.2.7 or later. If it detects an older version, like your PHP 5.2.6, it will skip loading its plugin as it would result in your site crashing.

PHP 5.2.6 was released five (5) years ago. This is an eternity in software development. PHP 5.2 has been end of life since January 2011, almost two years ago. Your version of PHP is, therefore, ancient, buggy and insecure. Please demand that your host upgrades to PHP 5.3 or 5.4 immediately. Trying to protect a site with a vulnerable version of PHP is like putting an armoured door in a house where all windows are left open at all times of day and night.
