Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: (2.5.6)
PHP version: (5.2.13)
MySQL version: (5.0.91)
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Admin Tools version: (2.3.0)

Description of my issue: I'm trying to upgrade Admin Tools from 2.3.0 to 2.3.1 and I keep getting the 'AJAX Error, 500 Internal Server' problem as Backup fails right at the start.

I have 2 sites on the same server, the first site upgrade worked fine, but not so the second.

I've checked all the recommended points on the relevant Troubleshooter page, and have altered Configuration max execution time etc.

Cant understand what is going wrong. It doesn't appear to be a server issue as the other site's upgrade worked.

The log file is attached.

Thanks in advance.

Go to Extensions, Plugin Manager and disable the "System - System Restore Points" plugin. Then please upgrade Admin Tools to 2.3.1 and Akeeba Backup to 3.6.1. Afterwards you can re-enable the "System - System Restore Points" plugin.

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for the quick reply, that has worked, both upgrades have now updated successfully.

Will this be an issue fwith all subsequent upgrades?

Thanks again.

Dam.

Nope, it was an issue with PHP 5.2 and Akeeba Backup 3.6.0. I will drop support for PHP 5.2 eventually. PHP 5.2 had its last release on January 2011. It's end of life for almost two years. Very soon I'm going to stop supporting it at all.
