Description of my issue: I just installed StackIdeas EasyDiscuss and had a problem with a certain feature working. I put a help ticket in with StackIdeas and they gave me a screenshot of the errors. (see attachment)
Not sure if you can tell by the screen shot if I need to add some exceptions to the .htaccess file. If so, what and where should I add them?

StackIdeas said: would it be possible to allow certain patterns like *.ejs ?

Thank you for the help.

StackIdeas gave you the first half of the solution, which files are blocked by the .htaccess Maker. Now you need the second half which is how to tell .htaccess Maker to let these files not be blocked. We have already documented it. What you need to add? Everything which throws a "NetworkError: 403 Forbidden" message, i.e.:
media/com_easydiscuss/js/dev/easydiscuss.controllers.tagform.tagitems.ejs
media/com_easydiscuss/js/dev/easydiscuss.controllers.tagform.suggest.contextmenu.ejs
media/foundry/js/jquery.suggest.contextmenu.ejs
media/foundry/js/jquery.suggest.contextmenu.item.ejs

I forgot to answer the latter question. In order to allow .ejs files you can go to .htaccess Maker, Server Protection and add ejs to the "Front-end file types allowed in selected directories".

Adding ejs and making a new .htaccess file fixed the problem.

Thanks again for quick and accurate solutions!
