Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes, https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/admin-tools/web-application-firewall.html
Joomla! version: 1.5.26
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.5.23-55
Host: Hostgator
Admin Tools version: 2.2.10

Description of my issue:

Since installing Akeeba Tools Pro, I am no longer able to log into my site's front-end with the super admin user account. The "Forbid front-end Super Administrator login" parameter in the Web Application Firewall is set to "No". All other user types from Administrator down to Registered are able to log in.

Is this expected behavior? (Everything else works like a charm though! :-)

I am pretty sure it's not an Admin Tools issue because I am perfectly capable in logging to all of my sites' front-ends using my SA credentials :) But there's a better way to figure out if it's Admin Tools and what to do.

First go to Admin Tools, Web Application Firewall, Configure WAF. Make sure "Log security exceptions" is set to Yes; if it's not, set it to Yes and click on Save. Now try reproducing your issue. Immediately after that, please go to Admin Tools, Web Application Firewall, Security Exceptions Log and go to the last page. The last log entry should have the date and time of when the issue occurred. Please copy the Reason and Target URL here so that I can help you. If, however, you do not see a log entry, or the Date and/or IP address do not match your last access, this problem is not caused by Admin Tools' WAF.

Thanks for the quick reply Nicholas! Yes, this is the only site where I've seen this issue, so I was also surprised.

I did as you suggested but no exception shows up in the WAF Security Exceptions Log. So I guess something's wonky on the Joomla end.

Thanks anyway for the help. I have to say I'm really pleased with the Admin Tools, your quick and helpful response only improves my opinion of your product :-)

You're welcome and thank you for your kind words!

FWIW, I'd take a look at all plugins in the user, system and authentication categories. Try toggling their published status (except for the plugins called "joomla") until you find the culprit. That's how I do debugging ;)
