Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? - different themes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? yes
Joomla! version: 2.5.6
PHP version: 5.3.
MySQL version:
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Admin Tools version: 2.3.0

Description of my issue:
Hi nicholas,

Case 1:
yesterday I got mor then 2000 Mails in a few minutes from my website, before the mail server stopped that. As useful as the "mail after security exception is" - in this case it was the main problem.
So I had to switch off the message after security exception. But that is also not, what I want. Maybe it would be useful to have a possibility to allow a maximum of Mails.

Case 2:
I forgot my email in a clients admintools, but have no access anymore. So I get every day a few update messages from his server. Also here it might be nice to have the possibility to say: Update messages yes, but maximum 5 reminders.

Thanks, Dan

Hello Dan,

1. Nope, that's neither possible nor desirable. I have written about it in length in past tickets. You'd better upgrade to Admin Tools 2.3.1 and use the automatic IP ban. Once an IP gets banned you stop receiving emails about it.

2. Receiving emails means that you are still a Super Administrator on that site. Besides, you can simply click on the update link. This will automatically log you in and perform the update. After the update is over you can simply go to Users Manager and change your email address or remove your account.

Hi, sorryI changed the Admin Tools Version this moment in the previous post. I have 2.0.3 and it says its "the newest." I updated 2 days ago. I did not get any AutoBan Message, but automatic ban is on and I never changed this.

In the second case I get no link (because did not check this) - but sure, its only my fault in this case. So thank you

There is no way that you have version 2.0.3 running on Joomla! 2.5. That version is a year old and won't install on Joomla! 2.5. If it does, it will bring down the site. I think you actually meant 2.3.0. Version 2.3.1 was released just half an hour ago to fix a bug regarding the automatic IP ban, that's why I asked you to update :) You can always click on the "Up to date" icon and then click on "Refresh update information" to have Admin Tools "see" the update; or just wait for 6-8 hours.

Ok, I will do this, thanks. For the release number I looked at extensions-manager but I will check again. Sure, I should have the newest version after updating 2 days ago...

There was a major issue which no beta tester mentioned in the 4 week period preceding the release: the automatic IP blocking was not working. Guess what? Once it was released as stable people told me "The automatic IP blocking doesn't work. I had seen that in the dev releases you had published a few weeks ago but I thought you'd have fixed it by now". Sadly, I am neither a psychic nor introduce bugs on purpose, making unreported bugs during the pre-release periods to most likely not get fixed in the official release. This is what leads to .0 and .1 versions usually having 2-3 days difference and me not getting much sleep for 48 hours after a .0 release. *sigh* Sometimes I wonder why am I publishing dev releases if nobody reports the bugs they see?
