Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes - but still could have missed something!
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes, and you have some typos and a reference to the "Remote Control" feature which isn't downloadable anymore that I can find... https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-documentation/securing-temp-output-directories.html

Joomla! version: 2.5.current
PHP version: (unknown) 5.3
MySQL version: (unknown) 5.0
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Admin Tools version: (unknown) current as of today.

Description of my issue:

I wanted to suggest a feature to view the current .htaccess file. Being able to edit it would be nice, but just viewing is OK. I imagine there are other exotic possibilities such as reverse engineering the rules back into the settings section <haha> but I'll leave that for someone else to suggest.

Hi Stephen,

The reason this feature is not implemented is because it has very limited scope and a very big potential of confusing people :) The limited scope means that you might only need it the very first time you are applying a .htaccess file with the .htaccess Maker. I guess that FTP or eXtplorer is just fine for this task. The potential to confuse people is there because viewing the existing .htaccess File might be confused with the .htaccess file preview, two completely different notions which can be easily confused.

Thanks. The reason I had asked is because I discovered, by accident, that my ISP had added an override to keep all sites running php 5.2, when they actually upgraded servers to 5.3 a while back. That's OK, but I never got a notice on any of 3 different billing accounts.
