Description of my issue:

WAF fails to send email on a failed login (Email this address on failed administrator login), when I enter same email id on "succesful back-end login" works fine. How come?

I can't replicate this issue on any of my test and live sites, using different versions of Joomla! (1.5.26 and 2.5.4) and PHP (5.2.17, 5.3.8 and 5.3.11). Are you sure the email doesn't end up in your spam folder? Or maybe you have a mail filter which automatically deletes/archives/moves the email?

Περίεργο... OK, I tried on another site. With Admin Tools 2.2.5 was fine. As soon as I updated to 2.2.6 same issue. It's like It fails to understand that it's an administrator login failure, maybe it has to do with the fact that I have changed the admin login name and security id? But how come it was OK with .5 and fails with .6?

Tell you what, I enabled the Email this address on security exceptions which works just fine, so you can now close this thread.

Ah, I think we both missed the obvious. If you enable the "Treat failed logins as security exceptions" option then the admin login failure is no longer caught by Admin Tools; it is considered a security exception and treated as such. In this case, yes, you need the "Email this address on security exceptions" to get a notification.
