Joomla! version: (2.5.4)
PHP version: (5.2.17)
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: (Dreamhost)
Admin Tools version: (2.2.6)

Description of my issue: I did two updates (not new installs) this weekend, Akeeba Backup and Akeekba Admin Tools. Noticed after these updates that my site www.petoskey.us was not loading fully - as if css was not loading. After trying a lot of different things, I found that turning AdminTools plugin off allowed site to load normally.

I believe that you have to go Admin Tools, SEO and Link tools and review the CSS compression settings there. If this doesn't help and you have used Admin Tools' .htaccess Maker recently, please take a look at this page: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/athtaccessexceptions.html

Interesting catch - I wouldn't have guessed that the css compression could be the problem given that I didn't change any settings with the upgrade.

But, you were right. Changing the Combining CSS setting to slower/plugin from Direct/Faster and then re-activating the AdminTools plugin seemed to solve the problem.

Thanks for your incredibly fast response!

You're welcome!

The direct method tries to access the cached combined CSS and JS files directory from the cache folder. Normally this is not allowed by a .htaccess Maker generated .htaccess file – unless you specifically allow it. There is a small note in the docs as I've had the same problem myself when I was developing this feature. That's how I caught that one :)
