Description of my issue: Hi There
Sorry to bother you with this issue, but I cant seem to find a solution. Here is my scenario. I have a client that wanted to move his old website to a new domain. So I backed up the website using akeeba backup core. I then restored the website on the new domain (precisionpdr dot co dot za)I created a new database for precisionpdr dot co dot za before restoring the website.

On the old website I had Admin Tools Core loaded, and added a administrator password protect, which I have on file.

Now that the sight is restored, everything seems to be in working order, however when I try to access the administrator section it doesnt want to accept my administrator password protect details.

I have gone to the administrator file, to delete the htaccess and the other file you mention from the docs, but they don't appear there. I then created two black files and inserted them there, but nothing else happens, not sure if i am missing a step somewhere.

Would appreciate some assistance.

All dot files (files whose name starts with a dot) are hidden in Linux and other UNIX-based operating systems. You need to set your FTP application to display hidden files in order to view and remove them. If you remove them, the browser will no longer ask you for a username and a password.
