Description of my issue:

replacing #__ with your site's database name prefix (the common part of your site's database table names, up to and including the underscore).

does this mean #lpc_ or lpc_ or what? i dont want to mess up the database so could you please clarify exactly what i need to put in.

In your case, it means "remove the hash and double underscore and replace it with lpc_". For example #__users becomes lpc_users.
