Description of my issue:

Hi Nicholas,

I'm glad to communicate with you after we met on Joomladays at Strasbourg. I attended at your nice conference. I've been convinced :-) and bought both products, Admintools Pro & Akeeba backup Pro. However, I'm on the way to also purchase SH404SEF witch is I know not from you.

My questions are quite simple :

1 Is there known conflicts between SH404SEF and your extensions?
2 Particularly with the .htaccess automaticaly created with Admintools?
3 Or with the SEO tools?
3 Is there therefore a reserve to use these extensions together? (I mean Admin tools and SH404SEF?)

Thank you per advance for your answer. And keep up the good work with your extensions!

Note: I'm not programmer, despite I studied some bases of HTML, CSS and PHP to have the ability to modify sometimes some codes. I thus use joomla extension with their GUI only. I'm starting soon a business in IT domain with (in part) creation of websites under Joomla.

Best regards,

Hello Hubert,

It was nice meeting all of you guys! Thank you very much for your kind words :)

Regarding your questions:

1. There is only one known conflict, which I doubt you will ever notice. If you are using sh404SEF and Remote CLI to create a remote backup with Akeeba Backup, under some circumstances this may be impossible. Since you are unlikely to use Remote CLI, I consider that virtually a non-issue.

2. No, Admin Tools' .htaccess Maker is 100% compatible with all third party SEF solutions.

3. This is way too broad to answer. For example, Google Webmaster Tools is SEO tool and its ability to detect your Joomla! version will be hampered by using Admin Tools and its .htaccess Maker. However, what Google does is also what hackers do to find vulnerable sites. So, yes, it may have an impact on SEO tools which use the same methods as hacking tools to extract information from your site.

4. None at all. One of my dev sites runs sh404SEF exactly for this reason. I would, however, recommend turning off sh404SEF's security features. There is no conflict, but I can't see why you should check the same things twice; that would only make your site slower.

Good luck with your new business! If you have a problem with Akeeba Backup or Admin Tools, feel free to drop us a line so that we can help you :)
