Description of my issue:

Hi,

It's my first time using admintools, admintools pro. I am now completely locked out of my site after installing and configuring (as carefully reading the documentation) admintools pro. When i try to access the secret admin page it's now asking for a username and password from .htaccess and i honestly had no clue i did configure this authorization requirement, so as you can imagine i don't know the username and password although i tried all possible combination from joomla or the server. So i've read through akeeba's FAQ and tried what it says but with no success in my case. I renamed the original .htaccess.txt to .htaccess.txt.bak then made a new blank .htaccess.txt and it still asked for credentials so i waited 10-30 minutes, actually over an hour and it still asked for credentials.. I also tried losing all browsers information, cache, and all... if i could at least know what these credentials are suppose to be i could authenticate since the joomla credentials apparently have no meaning. By the way i only have 1 user as i am setting up which i due today but i am blocked so this is kind of embarrassing.. What can i do from to resolve this issue very quickly?

Thank you

I believe you renamed the wrong .htaccess file. You will to go inside the administrator directory and remove the .htaccess and .htpasswd files from there (from the administrator directory). The mistake you seem to have done is that you renamed the .htaccess file in your site's root, which has nothing to do with the password protection.

I see indeed, I got it now. I couldn't see it using my FTP client but then saw clear using SSH. Thank you very much
