Description of my issue:

Hi Nicholas,

I had some problems to install the new Admin Tools version on www.huiskopenhongarije.nl, so I un-installed it and try ton install again. It seems to be ok, but Admin Tools is not in the components-menu :-(.

In the backend and the frontend I get error's like these:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/authentiek/domains/huiskopenhongarije.nl/public_html/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 377

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/authentiek/domains/huiskopenhongarije.nl/public_html/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 377

Hello Jan,

Regarding these warnings, you seem to have set the error reporting on your site too high. Please go to Global Configuration and set the Error Reporting to None (recommended for live sites).

Regarding the installation of Admin Tools, this is a known bug which has been plaguing Joomla! since 1.6 Beta 12. I have written a workaround patch, but it was rejected, on the grounds that a proper fix would be included. 18 months later, no proper patch is on the horizon and I still have to ask my users to perform database surgery whenever the Joomla! installer screws up. *sigh*

The good thing is that I've already documented what you have to do. Please follow that link and take a look under the "Joomla! 1.6/1.7/2.5 installation problems" header. Follow the instructions to edit your database data, replacing com_akeeba with com_admintools (the instructions are written for Akeeba Backup, but really apply to all Joomla! components by all developers). Then, retry installing Admin Tools.
