Admin Tools version: 2.2

Description of my issue:
Just a couple of questions I'm curious about regarding the notification message that I get after an admin login.

"We would like to notify you that user ...... has just logged in to the administrator back-end area of your site, ........, using IP address ......., coming from (unknown country), (unknown country). The browser used identifies itself as 'Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/535.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/17.0.963.83 Safari/535.11'.

1. Why does the message report unknown country for my IP address. I can use an IP locator to show the town and country for my IP address.

2. I was using Chrome when I logged in, so why are the other browsers mentioned. Are they all the browsers I have on my computer rather than just the one I was using?

Thanks

Jim

Hello Jim,

1. It's because we no longer ship MaxMind's GeoIP.dat with the component. You can go to Web Application Firewall, GeoBlock and click the button there to download and install the file on your site. Ta-da, you will now be seeing the countries correctly.

2. This is the user agent string of Chrome. For more information (really, read that page) take a look at the Wikipedia entry for User agent.
