Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Permissions
Joomla! version: 2.5
PHP version: 5.3.8
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: pair.com
Admin Tools version: 2.2.2
Description of my issue:
Question about optimal permissions.
THe joomla security lists recomment permissions of 755 or 711 (paranoid level) for directories. Admintools does not have 711 as a selection in the dropdown box. Any particular reason?
Thanks

711 on most shared hosts will not work as you expect and should certainly not be applied on folders which are supposed to have web-accessible content. If you needed 711 permissions you would not only know why you need them, you'd also need how and to which folders you should apply them :)
