Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: (1.5.25)
PHP version: (5.2.9)
MySQL version: (5.0.95-community )
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Admin Tools version: (2.2.0)

Description of my issue: I don't know that this is related to admintools or not, but for the first time on one of my websites where I have installed admintools I have attempted to enable Joomla core SEF and it breaks the site, regardless of which core SEF options I enable.

When I turn it on, clean cache, then load a page, it comes up completely blank (white) even the home page. To see if it was caused by the .htaccess I copied back in the old, generic joomla .htaccess. This seemed to make no difference. I may try installing, enabling sh404SEF, but would prefer to not go there if it is something simple. Ideas?

Core Joomla! doesn't break with Admin Tools. This site is the living proof that Admin Tools (including a .htaccess file generated by .htaccess Maker) and Joomla!'s core SEF are best buddies. I think that you may be using a caching engine such as APC or MemCache which is not correctly configured on your server, causing the blank page.

Nicholas, I really woudn't think so as well, but I report what I see and maybe it helps someone else.

I did have a couple of cacheing programs installed but they were not even enabled. Just to be sure I uninstalled them and tried again. No dice. I also made sure that core cache is/was disabled.

I did not want to go there but I installed sh404SEF and it worked. I have no idea the root cause, but it is working.

The most likely cause is that one of your components had a broken router file. sh404SEF doesn't use the components' router files (it uses its own), therefore isolating this problem.
