Description of my issue: I've purchased Admin Tools Pro. I've installed the package using extension manager. It reports that it's installed successfully. There is no evidence of Admin Tools under components, module manager or plugin manager.

What do you suggest?

I'd recommend reinstalling the component, twice. Yes, I'm not joking, sometimes the Joomla! extensions installer gets a little funky when installing relatively big packages. The problem is that it does so intermittently, so whenever I'm trying to debug it, the darn thing works perfectly and I can't track down what's going wrong :(

Since I've downloaded the package and have tried to install it several times, where can I find instructions for a manual install. The package seems to have 2 folders - frontend, backend, - & an xml file, but I'm not sure where to place them.

Thanks,

You are not supposed to extract the ZIP package manually unless you have a server error while installing the typical way. The typical installation workflow is the same as with any other Joomla! extension:
- Login your site's back-end (administrator)
- Go to Extensions, Install/Uninstall (Joomla! 1.5) or Extensions, Manage Extensions (Joomla! 1.7 and 2.5)
- Click the Browse button and locate the ZIP archive
- Click on Upload and Install

I've been using the extension manager - as mentioned in the original post. I've downloaded the package (English UK) several times and have installed it several times. It says it installed successfully, but there is no evidence that it installed.

I'd love to share with you my superadmin credentials so you could try for yourself.

Thanks,

OK, wait. There is no installation package of the software named "English UK". I think that you are downloading the language package, not the installation package. The installation package can be found by clicking on Download on the top of this page, then click on Admin Tools, then click on 2.2.0 and then click on Admin Tools Professional. This will download a file named something like com_admintools-2.2.0-pro.zip. This is the package you need to install.
