Hi Nicholas,

I am thinking about upgrading the joomla 1.5 sites to 1.7.
I could use jupgrade of course.
Do you think while using admintools that upgrading joomla is mandatory for a correct protection against hackers etc.

In other words, is upgrading after end of life a must?
What do you think?

thanks

Helo Roy,

instead of posting a long reply, I'd rather have you read Jen Kramer's blog post on the subject. In other words, it's not a definite "yes" or "no", but "it depends". You need to take an informed decision and that blog post (from an exceptional woman who had been teaching Joomla! as a college professor for years) is an excellent means of understanding the pros and cons of updating vs waiting.
