Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? No
Have I searched the tickets before posting? No
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? No
Joomla! version: 2.5.1
PHP version: (unknown)
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: Innohosting
Admin Tools version: 2.2.0

Description of my issue:

Around about the same time as doing an upgrade on admin tools I lost access to my WHMCS install on my server. If .htaccess is moved, problem goes away. error_log is showing the following when trying to access the page:

[20-Feb-2012 17:10:50 UTC] PHP Deprecated: Directive 'magic_quotes_gpc' is deprecated in PHP 5.3 and greater in Unknown on line 0
[20-Feb-2012 17:11:01 UTC] PHP Deprecated: Directive 'magic_quotes_gpc' is deprecated in PHP 5.3 and greater in Unknown on line 0

pages are:

http://shamballanet.com/clients
http://shambllanet.com/clients/reception

I do not know if it is an issue with admin tools but I suspect it to be this as it is something in the .htaccess file - but i do not know really ??

Any help is smuch appreciated

Thanks
Jonny

You will likely need to add exceptions for these directories in your server protection area of the .htaccess maker. You can read about the protection functionality here:

https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/admin-tools/server-protection.html

Check out the information on : Allow direct access, including .php files, to these directories

This should give those directories and subdirectories access to be able to run .php files, which whmcs needs.

Hi, problem solved, I just hit "save and re-create .htaccess file" in the .htaccess file maker section and that sorted it - no exeptions were needed, good job because I had no clue what any of that meant on the link you sent me! Thanks anyway though :)

Glad you resolved the issue. I was hoping it was something simple!

yes, the .htaccess maker can be quite involved with the power that it has available.
