Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: 2.5.1
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.1.58
Host: your-webhost.nl
Admin Tools version: svn783

Description of my issue:
1) In the WAF, the "Administrator secret URL parameter" does not work.
When i put "test", and i try to surf to http://www.mydomain.be/administrator?test, it redirects me to http://www.mydomain.be/administrator/?test, and http://www.mydomain.be/administrator still works?!
Why please?

2) i've added an IP to "Never block these IPs". But admin tools blocks the IP, reason: "Admin Query String" violation...

3) when will a new version (beta?) of Admin Tools Pro be released?
Because now, Joomla tells me all the time that there is an update for svn783... . And i red that svn783 & 2.2.a3 are the same build.

Thanks,
Kind regards

nicholas

1. Not a bug. When your IP address is included in the admin IP whitelist, or the "do not block these IPs" fields in WAF config, no security is applied for this particular IP. This means that the secret word is also not applied. Check with a different device connected to the Internet from a different ISP, e.g. cellphone on 3G network.

2. Not a bug. Removing an IP from the auto-blocked list is a two step process (remove from log and auto-ban ip list). If you don't do both, the IP will STILL be banned, even if it's added in the exceptions list.

3. Tomorrow I'll publish a stable release. The last alpha should have actually been called a beta.

First of all, thank you for your quick support! ;-)

1) it works now (secret string for administrator)

2) thank you for the info.

3) is this the new Admin Tools Pro version: F057324(Alpha) ??
When i look for new admin tools pro versions in Joomla (extensions update checker), it tells me that the latest version is 2.2.a3 (it tells me that there is an update available: 2.2.a3?!).
And i have version svn783 installed. And some time ago, i filled in my "AkeebaBackup.com Download ID".

Which (version number) is the latest available version, and how can i upgrade?
And is the latest version a Beta or Alpha?

Thanks,
Kind regards

Just wait for about 3 hours, I have not released the stable version yet. I am in the process of doing the final testing and packaging right now.

ok, thanks!

I hope i will see the upgrade then in the Extensions Updater of Joomla 2.5.1.
Or in Admin Tools Pro updater.

The Joomla! updater won't be able to install Admin Tools Professional, but Live Update will. The reason is that we have to pass a unique identifier (your Download ID) to our download system before you can download Professional releases. Normally, the Joomla! update doesn't support this. However, I did find a workaround and I included that in the stable version. This means that Admin Tools Professional 2.2 stable will be able to update to 2.2.1 using Joomla!'s updater when it's released, but 2.2.a3 can't update to 2.2 stable. You'll have to use the Live Update to go from 2.2.a3 to 2.2 stable.

the Live Updater now found version revF057324. I installed it (= upgraded).

How do i install the stable 2.2.0 ?
It is on your website, but not on the Live Update server?
And now that i have version F057324, Joomla extension updater still tells me that there is a new version 2.2.a3 (even after a purge).

Thanks

Live Update will take a few hours (usually 3-6 hours) before it catches up. However, you don't need it to upgrade. Just download the 2.2.0 package from our site and install it on your site. Do not uninstall your existing copy of Admin Tools; installing the stable version will update your existing copy.

Ok: i downloaded the 2.2.0 stable zip file from your site.
1) After installation (with Extension Manager), it is succesful, but i get 2 warnings:
Warning: mysqli_fetch_row() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli_result, boolean given in /var/www/qb207285/data/www/mydomain.be/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysqli.php on line 469

Warning: mysqli_free_result() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli_result, boolean given in /var/www/qb207285/data/www/mydomain.be/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysqli.php on line 512

Why please?

2) and now that version 2.2.0 Pro is installed, the Live Update still tells me:
"A new version is available"?! -> F057324.

Does Live Update not know that 2.2.0 is more recent than F057324??

Thanks,
Best regards

1. These warnings are thrown by the old version of the Admin Tools plugin. Normally, if you would try reinstalling the extensions you won't see them. They are only a cosmetic issue.

2. No, it has no idea. Unfortunately, the update issues can only be found out after a new release has been published, not before, for the obvious reason that before a new release is published there is no new release to fetch updates for. Meanwhile, you can update manually as I told you.
