Mandatory information about my setup:

Joomla! version: 2.5.1
PHP version: 5.3.5
MySQL version: 5.0.92
Host: Brontobytes
Admin Tools version: 2.2.a3 Pro

Description of my issue:
After trying reinstalling Joomla 2.5.1 through Admin tools, the Joomla Version appears twice at the bottom of backend. Then I try to do an update instead of reinstalling, and now I have the version showing three times instead of two. I suspect that if I try to do it once more I will have four Joomla Versions on my bottom :)

The Joomla! version is shown in Joomla! 2.5.1 using an administrator module. Please unpublish the extra copies of the module.

As to why this happens, I have written about it again. Joomla! 2.5.1’s installation SQL will try to create. a new instance of the version information module every single time, without checking that one already exists. This and Admin Tools' eagerness to always run all of the SQL files on upgrade (they should only run the SQL files not already run. y previous versions) were causing this issue. This will be addressed in the next release. I have written the relevant code just 12 hours ago :)

Thanks Nikola. I dont even think that was a "module think". I was looking about something more... extreme :P

The version number display was removed from the back-end of Joomla! 2.5.0 as some people were concerned that this is somehow a problem. I am not sure where the problem is, but they were very vocal. Of course, people on their right mind argues that it is of paramount importance to know exactly WTF version of Joomla! is running at any given time – especially since the update may not be compatible with all servers and the user should be able to easily find out if his site software is out-of-date. So, in order to keep everyone happy, 2.5.1 added a module to display the Joomla! version number. It was the first time Joomla! added and published a module in a minor release, hence the problem. Admin Tools had to deal with an unanticipated situation. This prompted me to rethink how the final step of the update should work. At the same time, I was writing a new updater for inclusion in the Joomla! core (don't rejoice yet, it's not included yet, it's still in testing) so I rewrote the code for Joomla! and then took it for inclusion in Admin Tools. This is what I did yesterday and I'm happy to report that this strange bug is no longer present.
