Joomla! version: (unknown)
PHP version: (unknown)
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Admin Tools version: (unknown)

Description of my issue:
I purchased and installed Akeeba backup last week and am using it successfully with webcron.com to remotely backup my Joomla sites and database. As I am also using Admin Tools Pro and thought I would have to add the backup.php file to the Server protection exceptions list but it runs fine without it? Is this correct as I was under the impression that Admin Tools blocked the running of all php files unless in the exceptions list.

Hello John,

The webcron.org method does not use backup.php. In fact, if you have followed the instructions in the documentation, you have a URL starting with http://www.example.com/index.php?... This is a URL which goes through Joomla!'s index.php file. You are not accessing an arbitrary file directly.

FYI, the backup.php and altbackup.php files are not meant to be accessible directly over the web. In fact, Admin Tools makes no exception for them. These files are supposed to be called only through a server local CRON job, from the command-line interface of PHP.

So, no, Admin Tools neither allows direct access to backup.php, or should it.
