Description of my issue:

Hi, I tried a lot of possibilities and because a lot of stress I just want your opinion about this. If I use admintools update, AkeebaBu or export import database by phpmyadmin, two of my sites show up warnings. Other just went well, but these errors I can't explain. Sites seems to work OK, but I don't know if that's just a matter of time. Both sides show up errors, I can't fix with admintool nor Joomla build in fix.
local these errors don't show, but when I put the same site online it shows;

There's a button called "Fix". Click on it. And that's all it takes. Honestly. I've tried it when upgrading this site :)

Important! You MUST make sure that "Debug System" is set to No in your site's Global Configuration, otherwise you'll get a 500 error page when you click on the Fix button.

trust me, if it was that easy I didn't even dare to ask your knowledge... I did that but doesn't work on two of my sites. On other where I had just a few warnings it worked indeed. But now nothing. When I backup the site and restore it local everything looks OK, no warnings at all. Maybe something with the HDD. But I tried to fix the site with an backup from the local site, and kickstart gave a warning about
Table 'brldknl_languages' does not have column 'sitename' with type 'VARCHAR(1024)'
I put it in the file and made 255 of it.
That went well, but these warnings stay...

Important note: Kickstart extracts the archive. It's Akeeba Backup Installer (ABI) performing the database update.

Before restoring a full site backup it is advisable that you remove existing tables. Akeeba Backup Installer will attempt to do that for you if you select the "Drop tables" options –selected by default– but if you have not granted the DROP TABLE privilege to your database user it is possible that they won't be removed and ABI will throw errors during restoration.

I was never in doubt with your advice, so I ask my host (webreus.nl) to migrate me to a new server.... and what do you think?
Was PLESK 7* now I have PLESK 8*
Was MySQL 4* now I have 5.1.47
local host back-up time from a site from 39Mb takes 2.12 minutes
upload JPA, kickstart, unpack, install database, fine tune .htaccess and WAP -> less then 7 minutes!!!!
I think local develop in MySQL 5 and hosting life on MySQL 4 was the big P.
All the above failures where gone after migration to the new server.

Thank you again and hand up for Akeeba Backup!

Hope you have time to enjoy your 27" LED Cinema Display ;)

Live host with MySQL 4? Eeek! I remember writing Delphi code to interface a Point Of Sales system to a server based on the then-new MySQL 4 back in 2003, almost a decade ago :D

Hm, the 39Mb taking 2 minutes is a lot. I'd recommend tweaking your filesystem cache (Google it). Doing that on Windows 7 had allowed me to half the time it takes for a complete site backup. For a 39Mb backup I'd expect something around 50-90 seconds. Less if you are on Linux and have lots of RAM or a blazing fast SSD drive ;)

Yup, 7 minutes to transfer a site sounds like a typical site migration duration. As you noticed, the bottleneck in the process is file uploads – unless you have a fancy SDSL or VDSL with a huge upload capacity. On my part, I hope that Greece won't go bust and the promise to get VDSL by 2015 will be kept. Right now I have an ADSL with a nominal speed of 24/1Mbps (download/upload) and real speed 7.5/0.8Mbps. It's quite good on download, it take a lot of patience when uploading large files.

I don't have the 27" screen just yet. I ordered it and the supplier ordered it from Apple. It'll take them 2-3 weeks to deliver, depending on how fast Apple can ship (obviously, they need to make the order quite big for the transport costs to be evenly spread out across many products). Meanwhile, I'm stuck with a 19" Samsung display with an unimpressive resolution (1280x1024). It's better than nothing, I guess :D
