Joomla! version: 2.5
PHP version: 5.3.8-pl0-gentoo
MySQL version: 5.1.56
Admin Tools version: 2.1.14

Description of my issue:

Hello Akeeba-Team!
I started the live-update feature from Joomla 2.5 and got this warning:

Fehler beim Verbindungsaufbau zum Server: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 403 ACCESS FORBIDDEN

Paketdownload fehlgeschlagen: https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/admintools/admintools-2-2-a3/com_admintools-2-2-a3-pro-zip.html

Fehler beim Verbindungsaufbau zum Server: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 403 ACCESS FORBIDDEN

Paketdownload fehlgeschlagen: https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/akeeba-backup/akeeba-backup-3-3-12/com_akeeba-3.3.12-pro.zip.html

So the update from Admin Tools Pro and Akeeba Pro did not work!
Do you have a resolution for this?
Herbert

You forgot to set up your Download IDs. Please read these two documents for instructions on how to do that:

Oh, oh, I just realised that you are talking about Joomla!'s update feature, not the Live Update included in our components. Right now you can not use Joomla!'s updater. The problem is that it requires a publicly available download URL for the component, with no user authentication control. This would mean that the commercial versions of my software would be publicly available to non-subscribers, completely beating the point of selling subscriptions. That would make me very poor very fast :) I am working on a solution which involves direct manipulation of the database and changes on our server. It will be rolled out with our next releases in February.
