So I am still getting about 3-5 spammers signing up for my site a day. I have lowered the honeypot score from 25 to 15. Will this help? Will it still allow for normal function of my site?

Thank you.

Project Honeypot can not guarantee 100% protection. If you read about how PH works, you'll quickly figure out why. A spammer has to trigger the honeypots on an adequate number of sites before his IP address is marked as "spammer" or "hacker". If a spammer is using a dynamic IP address, an anonymising proxy, a botnet or something like TOR then his IP will most likely never be listed, as it will keep on changing.

There's not much you can do in this case. With Joomla! 2.5 you'll be able to have ReCAPTCHA on the subscription page, which is a good enough measure. Besides that, the Bad Words filtering may help you block some spam messages. That's pretty much all you can do.

Yeah I figured as much. I know that 2.5 will have that so that should help a lot.

I also hope that by lowering the score to 15 that will also significantly improve things.

People who get blocked by PH do they go into the autoban? Or are they just flat out blocked?

They are flat out blocked and if they try many times and too fast they will also get auto-banned as per your auto-ban settings.
