Description of my issue: How do I redirect index.php pages? I am using the redirection tool and it's not working. I integrated a phpbb3 forum in my site using the component jfusion, using teh wrapper option. When someone googles my site, they get index pages of the forum, all alone, not within my site like this:

http://www.njteachertalk.com/Forum/index.php

This page is actually located within my site and I would like it to be redirected to just this:

http://www.njteachertalk.com/forum

Or even this, the homepage:

http://www.njteachertalk.com/

Is there anyway to accomplish this?

Thanks

You are using the wrong tool. The URL Redirection feature only works when an inexistent file is being accessed on your server. This causes Joomla! to kick in, trying to handle the request (that's how SEF URLs work). This allows our "System - Admin Tools" plugin to intercept this page load and perform the redirection.

Moreover, you are trying to do something which is impossible. What you can do is redirect FROM http://www.njteachertalk.com/forum TO http://www.njteachertalk.com/Forum/index.php. Doing the reverse would be equivalent to creating SEF URLs for your forum, which is something which the forum software has to support. As far as I know, phpBB3 does not support something like that and since I know very well how it works (we were using phpBB3 for 2 years on our first site), what you want to do is impossible. The only solution would be using a native Joomla! forum component like NinjaBoard, Kunena or Agora. This would, in turn, allow you to use Joomla!'s own SEF URL features or –even better– a SEF component like sh404SEF.
