Hello, I just updated my Admin Tools Pro from v2.1.11 to 2.1.13, and I got an email saying that a new version is available (v2.1.12). I logged on to the backend and it says I do, in fact, have the latest version (2.1.13), so there must be a bug somewhere.. any ideas?

Click on the "up to date" button and click on Refresh update information. This should stop sending you emails. If this persists, please double check the URL on the link of the email and if it's really from that site let me know.

Alright, thanks. I have clicked refresh now. How often does it check for a new update?

I would like to add that I have updated to 2.1.12 on other sites before updating to 2.1.13, and on those sites I am not getting an email telling me to upgrade to 2.1.12. Only on this site where I went from 2.1.11 -> 2.1.13.

It only checks once every 6 hours. However, the email is sent only once every 24 hours. I guess you'll know if the workaround worked by tomorrow, about the same time as now :)

This is really odd. I just received another email. First one was at 3:34 PM, and this one was at 4:35 PM (1 minute ago).

Hello,

We are emailing you to inform you that there is an updated version of Admin Tools which can be installed on your site, wooooo. The details of the new version are:
Version: 2.1.12
Release date: 2011-11-23
Stability: Stable

If you want to install this version on your site, please click the following link. It will automatically log you in to your site and run Admin Tools' Live Update. Please remember that the link is valid only for 24 hours since this email was sent to you. If the URL is not a link, simply copy & paste it to your browser.

Update link: ..... etc. etc.

What to do now?

Is this coming from the same site? I mean, the URL (which you, of course, redacted from what you pasted) is it from the same domain as the previous email? If it is, just disable the "System - Admin Tools Update Email" plugin. This disables all those emails.

Yes, the emails are coming from the same site. I'd rather not disable it because I really like that feature, just 1-click update straight from my email instead of having to log in to the backend to check etc. :(

Any idea what's wrong with it? Should I downgrade to 2.1.12 and then go back up to 2.1.13 or something?

Maybe we can try something less drastic. Try uninstalling those two plugins and reinstall Admin Tools 2.1.13.

Hey, terribly sorry for not updating earlier, been out of office for quite some time!

Just wanted to let you know that the emails stopped coming after the second email, but I have no idea why though. I never had time to uninstall / reinstall, so it just stopped by itself I guess :)

Anyway, problem solved! Thanks for the help :)

Most likely that was a stuck update cache which, finally, got cleared :)

Oh one more thing I've had on my mind regarding email notifications..

I have a couple of installations on www.mysite.com/subsite and www.mysite.com/subsite2 etc. etc., and I have admin tools installed on all of 'em, but the emails sent out only state www.mysite.com, not /subsite, so it's difficult for me to know which site it is. Do you know how to fix this? If that's not possible, will you implement the feature in the future? :)

Thanks in advance,
humdum

The site name mentioned in the update email is the one you have set up in your site's Global Configuration. Obviously, I can not "guess" if you have one site and many sub-sites in subdirectories with the same name and you'd like them to be reported with a different name. You have two options:
1. Change the site's name in Global Configuration for each site in the subdirectories
2. Pay attention to the update URL to see if there is a subdirectory mentioned in the URL before the /administrator part.

I thought the site name mentioned in the emails (mostly talking about security exceptions email which does not have a link in it) were the root directory of the site, which is set up in the .htaccess maker :)

Thanks for clearing that up!
