Hi Frans,

Your username is frans47. The passwords are encrypted, so I can't recover it for you. You can, however, reset it yourself at https://www.akeebabackup.com/component/user/reset.html where you just need to enter the email address you used to subscribe to our site. It will send you an email with password reset instructions.

Aaah! Now I understand what you mean. Sorry, I thought you were asking me for instructions to reset your username and password on AkeebaBackup.com.

So, you have forgotten the username and password you used to protect your site's administrator area. As mentioned in our documentation, in order to remove that protection:
If you wish to remove the password protection you can remove both the .htaccess and .htpasswd files from your administrator directory

This means, use your favourite FTP programme to connect to your site, go inside your administrator directory and remove the .htaccess file. If you don't see that file it's because it is normally hidden. Files starting with a dot are always hidden on UNIX derivatives, including Linux, the operating system most likely in use by your server. You can always create a blank (no contents) file named .htaccess and upload it to your administrator directory in order to reset the password protection.

IMPORTANT! You may also have a .htaccess file in your site's root, that is one directory above your administrator directory. Do not remove that file as it is required for the correct operation of SEF URLs.

Hi Nicholas,

I have already did this. I cannot access my administratot.

If you go to my site (www.ofvmaasveld.nl) you can see that you cannot access the administrator-page.

Best regards,
Frans

Sorry, but the feature which is not allowing you to access your site's back-end is the secret word protection which is only available to users of Admin Tools Professional, not Admin Tools Core. As per our policy, support for Professional editions' features is only provided to customers with a valid subscription to the relevant Professional edition subscription (in this case, ATPRO) or one of the high-end subscription levels (SUPPORT and AKEEBADELUXE).

If a third party, e.g. the person or company who built your site, installed Admin Tools Professional to your site, we kindly request that you contact that person for support. Alternatively, you can take a look at our freely available documentation and/or troubleshooting wizard which readily explains how to disable Admin Tools Professional's system plugin which provides this protection feature.

Hi Nicholas,

I built this site by myself and used Admin Tools Core.

Further I cannot find "plugins/system/admintools" and also not main.ph in there.

I really would appreciated if you could help me, even if i have to pay more than this €7,79.

Best Regards
Frans

Hi Frans,

Ugh, you have the one broken release I had published a long time ago. OK. Using your FTP client, please go to the plugins directory, then the system directory. You should see a file named admintools.php. Delete it. This should allow you to log back in to your site. Now, after doing that, please install Admin Tools Core 2.1.6. Your version (1.1.2) is way too old, (very!) buggy and unsupported.

Actually, your problem is with jSecure, not with Admin Tools. jSecure is not developed by yours truly, but here we go... You simply need to rename jsecure.php to something else, e.g. jsecure-disabled.php, to regain access to your site.
