Compared to the Joomla version there are no filters to show the new/modified or marked safe/not marked safe.

Those filters are still there. Please clear your browser cache and see if that helps. If not, please use a private window or another computer. I think you have some old code stuck in the cache that is interfering with the display of those fields.

No, WordPress is rather limited in the filter options it gives us. You can sort by Marked Safe though which does something equivalent.
