Akeeba eXtract Wizard 3.0.7 (cross-platform) just released.

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Akeeba eXtract Wizard 3.0.7, the newest release of our cross-platform archive extraction utility. This version is primarily targetting users operating computers running Mac OS X or Linux. Windows users are encouraged to keep on using Akeeba eXtract Wizard 3.1, a version optimized for their operating system.

This release fixes two important issues, affecting Linux and Mac OS X users:

  • Linux: application wouldn't load. Akeeba eXtract Wizard was using Titanium Runtime 1.0.0 which was incompatible with newer Linux distributions, such as Ubuntu Linux 10.04 or later. Users would experience nothing happening after trying to run the application. In order to fix this issue, please completely remove the old version's directory before installing the new version!
  • Linux and Mac OS X: files wouldn't extract. This issue was present in version 3.0.4 and immediately resolved in version 3.0.6. However, that release was never automatically pushed to our users. This release fixes this issue. If your copy of eXtract Wizard doesn't automatically ask you to update it, please install the new version manually.

As always, the software is provided free of charge from our Downloads section. If you have difficulties navigating the Downloads section, remember that the sequence is clicking on the "View releases" button of the software you want to download, then "View files" of the release you want to download and finally "Download" on each file you'd like to download. Please note that you can request our assistance free of charge by posting to our Free Support Forum.
