Kickstart 3.5.0 just released
We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Akeeba Kickstart 3.5.0, a feature release. This release now comes in two editions, Akeeba Kickstart Core (free of charge for all) and Akeeba Kickstart Professional (available only to subscribers).
The major difference between the two editions is that Kickstart Professional comes with exclusive, time-saving features like our shiny Import from Amazon S3 feature! Remember all those times that you had to take a 2Gb backup, download it, upload it to a new server and proceed with the restoration? Yes, we do too. That's why we added this great new feature. No need to download and upload anything any more! Just back up your site to Amazon S3. Then go to the new site, upload Kickstart Professional, run it and let it download the archive from S3 directly to your new server. Is it fast? You bet. Is it saving you tons of time? No doubt. Will you love it? Darn right, you will!
As always, you can download Akeeba Kickstart from our Downloads page.
Please note that since July 7th, 2011, support is provided only to subscribers. We have created a cheap (7.79€) subscription, MINISUPPORT, which gives you access to our Support Ticket System for eight days, with the same priority as all subscribers to any subscription level (including the ability to post private tickets). If you already have a subscription to any of our subscription levels you are already entitled to Kickstart support by posting your support request in the Site Restoration category.
Changelog
New features
- Ignore most errors option (May cause partial extraction; use with EXTREME CAUTION!)
- Import archives from S3 (Pro only)
- The Javascript libraries (jQuery and JSON2) are now only loaded from a CDN and not included in the script. The two Javascript files are included in the ZIP file. If you wish to use Kickstart off-line, e.g. when on a plane, just make sure these two .js files are on the same place as kickstart.php.
