Akeeba Subscriptions 2.1.1 just released.

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Akeeba Subscriptions 2.1.1 Stable, a bugfix release in our 2.x series.

Akeeba Release System 2.1.1 brings dozens of new features and bug fixes. Compatible with Joomla! 1.5 and 2.5, it allows you to easily sell subscriptions on your site.

As always, Akeeba Subscriptions is available free of charge from our Downloads page. If you have an older version installed, you can simply use the integrated Live Update feature to upgrade to the new version painlessly.

While the software is free, its support is not. If you wish to receive support for the software, you will need to buy a MINISUPPORT subscription at 7.79 Euros for an 8-day pass to our dedicated forum section. Alternatively, if you are a subscriber to AKEEBADELUXE or SUPPORT you can request support either through the dedicated support forum section or by submitting a private support ticket.

Supported versions

Our support policy is to provide support only to the latest published stable release of Akeeba Subscriptions, as well as to the latest published preview (alpha, beta or release candidate) release, if one is available. As of this release, only 2.0.1 is supported. If you have 1.x or an alpha/beta/rc version of 2.0 installed on your site, please upgrade as soon as possible.

Moreover, we only support the Joomla! versions officially supported by the Joomla! project. Due to the plethora of active Joomla! versions, we have consolidated the support terms for different Akeeba Subscriptions and Joomla! version combinations in the table below:

* Alpha, Beta and RC releases of Akeeba Subscriptions 2.0 are not supported. If you're using 2.0 Stable we might ask you to upgrade to 2.0.1 before providing further assistance.

** If a new Akeeba Subscriptions series (i.e. 2.2) is released before August 2013, Akeeba Subscriptions 2.0.x will cease being supported, per our support policy stated above.

*** Future versions will drop Joomla! 1.5 support. Users running the latest published version of Akeeba Subscriptions 2.1.x on Joomla! 1.5 will continue to be supported until August 1st. After that point, no support will be provided to Joomla! 1.5 users.

WARNING! Joomla! 1.6 and 1.7 are end-of-life. At the time of this writing, they are affected by a HUGE privilege escalation issue which can be used to easily hack your sites. Unfortunately, we can not support end-of-life, insecure versions of Joomla!. As a result, we strongly recommend upgrading your Joomla! 1.6 and 1.7 sites to the latest published release of Joomla! 2.5.

Bug fixes

• You can not subscribe when not using SEF URLs. Oops.
• Clicking on the Terms of Service link in the Agree to TOS plugin causes the main window to go blank, displaying [object Object] on non-WebKit browsers
• The Users page should not have Publish/Unpublish buttons
• The None payment plugin would redirect to the a page throwing a 404 error when using Joomla! 1.7/2.5's multilingual feature and SEF URLs.
• The default values for custom fields were not remembered when making a new subscription
• The "List subscription levels" module would show the Forbid Renewal levels even if the user is not supposed to access them again
