Akeeba Backup 3.3.6 just released
We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Akeeba Backup 3.3.6, a maintenance release. This release addresses issues which were affecting the previous release, Akeeba Backup 3.3.5.
This version addresses a major bug in Akeeba Backup Professional 3.3.5 which did not allow the command-line backup scripts, backup.php and altbackup.php, to work. Another important bug addressed, is your site's administrator becoming inaccessible if you had PHP 5.0/5.1 (Akeeba Backup 3.3.4 and above require PHP 5.2.7 or later) due to a bug in the administrator backup notification module. Moreover, we addressed a cosmetic issue with the CHANGELOG not displaying at all on the Firefox browser.
Please note that since Akeeba Backup 3.3.4 we are no longer officially supporting Joomla! 1.6. Joomla! 1.6 reached end-of-life in mid-August this year. If you have a site running on Joomla! 1.6 you are urged to upgrade to Joomla! 1.7. Akeeba Backup should still work on Joomla! 1.6, but any issues specific to Joomla! 1.6 will not be fixed.
As always, you can download the free version, Akeeba Backup Core, from our Downloads page without any charge. If you are a Professional subscriber you can download the Akeeba Backup Professional release from the same page; just make sure you are logged in before visiting the download page. Alternatively, you can use the integrated Live Update feature of our software to update it automatically on supported server environments.
