Akeeba Backup 3.3.b1 (beta) is released.

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Akeeba Backup 3.3.b1 which solves several bugs found in the alpha releases.

This is a BETA release. Even though it's considered very stable and we have already used it for over two weeks on our own site, we do not recommend installing it on mission critical sites.

This version solves all known issues with the alpha versions of the 3.3 series and brings in some new features and compatibility with Joomla! 1.5/1.6/1.7 with the same installation package. For starters, you can now select if you want Live Update to notify you about alpha, beta and RC versions. There is also a post-setup wizard which helps you setting up Akeeba Backup's optional features when you install it for the first time or upgrade it. The component also got smarter, self-diagnosing when its tables are corrupt and attempting to repair them. Furthermore, users of the Professional release will appreciate the new feature which allows you to (re-)upload archives to remote storage. This allows you, for example, to have a master site, take a backup and then upload the archive to, say, five different hosts, giving an easy head start in your effort to build five sites. It's that easy! Finally, we got busy with cleaning up our user interface and making it look properly on even more back-end templates, including RocketTheme's MissionControl and the upcoming Nooku Server Alpha 3.

As always, you can download the free version, Akeeba Backup Core, from our Downloads page without any charge. If you are a Professional subscriber you can download the Akeeba Backup Professional release from the same page. Limited support is provided free of charge to all users of the Core release through our Free Support Forum. Subscribers get full support either through the forum or, if you are an AKEEBADELUXE or SUPPORT subscriber, through our top-priority Private Ticket support system.

Do you want the best backup solution for Joomla! without spending a fortune? Akeeba Backup Professional can do that, with a flat cost of 40 Euros – or just 30, if you bought an ATPRO subscription the last three moths. An AKEEBAPRO subscription allows you to use the component on as many sites as you want, for as long as you want (even after your subscription expires) and receive updates and support for a whole year. For the price of a dinner for two you can get the best backup solution all your Joomla! 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7 sites. Go Professional today!
