Admin Tools 2.1 was just released.
We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Admin Tools 2.1 which brings new and improved features, as well as bug fixes.
Important: This release allows you to seamlessly upgrade from Joomla! 1.6 to Joomla! 1.7 using our Joomla! core update feature. To this end, once you install it on a Joomla! 1.6 site you will see that there is an update available, 1.7-Alpha1. While we have not bumped into any major woes in our tests of 1.7 Alpha 1, if you want to be on the safe side please do not install it on critical sites just yet! Wait for a week or so, until 1.7 beta1 or 1.7 stable is released.
As always, you can download the free version, Admin Tools Core, from our Downloads page without any charge. If you are a Professional subscriber you can download the Admin Tools Professional release from the same page. Support is provided free of charge for all users through our Free Support Forum.
Due to a bug in Live Update found in version 2.0.2 and 2.0.3, users of the Professional edition of these versions won't be able to upgrade automatically. In this case, please download the latest version from https://www.AkeebaBackup.com/latest and install it on top of your existing Admin Tools installation, without uninstalling the previous version. Users of 2.0.4 should be able to upgrade normally. Do note that our site switched to full SSL on April 15th. If you no longer receive update notifications in the component, make sure that your server firewall allows communication over TCP/IP port 443 to AkeebaBackup.com and that PHP and its cURL extension are built with OpenSSL support. Please ask your host to verify that information if you're in doubt.
